Private Counselling Practice
Therapy in its gentlest form. Confidential, unhurried conversations that help you make sense of what you're carrying — and what you'd like to set down.
Begin a conversation
For more than fifteen years I have sat with people during difficult chapters — and watched, again and again, how being properly listened to can begin to change things.
My work is rooted in person-centred and integrative therapy, drawing on psychodynamic and somatic approaches where they feel useful. I believe healing rarely arrives in straight lines. It tends to come quietly, in pauses and noticings, in the slow rebuilding of trust with one's own experience.
I see adults navigating anxiety, grief, relational difficulty, burnout, and the long shadows of earlier experience. Sessions take place from my consulting room in Hove, or online — whichever suits your life.
Each conversation begins where you are. The services below are simply starting points — many people move between them, or arrive without quite knowing what they need. That's welcome too.
Open-ended weekly sessions for adults working through anxiety, low mood, life transitions, identity, or a sense that something needs space to be examined. We meet at the same time each week, in person or online.
A gentle, unhurried space to sit alongside loss — whether recent or long held. There is no schedule grief is meant to keep, and no version of mourning that needs fixing.
Careful, paced work for those carrying the imprint of difficult past experiences. We move slowly, with safety as the priority, drawing on somatic awareness where it helps.
A considered space for partners wanting to understand patterns, repair rupture, or simply learn to speak and be heard more fully by one another.
A brief, no-obligation conversation — by phone or video — so we can both get a sense of whether working together feels right. There is no pressure to continue.
The room is quiet. There is tea if you'd like it. We begin where you'd like to begin — and where you don't yet have words, that is met too. Therapy is not about being interpreted at, or hurried towards insight. It's about having someone properly with you, while you find your own way through.
What is to give light must endure burning. The work is gentle because the matter is tender. — Viktor Frankl
I won't ask you to recount everything in your first session. We move at the pace you can tolerate. Some clients come for a handful of sessions around a specific concern; others stay longer, valuing the regular space to think aloud about a life. Both are entirely fine.
Everything you bring is held in strict confidence, within the limits of the BACP Ethical Framework. You are free to pause or end the work at any time — your sense of choice is part of what we're protecting.
Send a short note below and I'll reply within two working days, usually sooner. There's no need to explain everything — a sentence or two is plenty to begin with.
